Tommy Hilfiger’s Estate is on Market for $100 Million
Home to the co-founder of Tommy Hilfiger, Tranquility Estate in Lake Tahoe, Nev. is on the market at $100 million.
Sequestered in 210 acres of a pine and aspen forest, the prestigious property is being offered to the public for the first time after remaining in the same lineage for 70 years. Since the brief occupancy by the legendary entertainer Wayne Newton in 2000, Tranquility Estate has meteorically evolved into its present day form. Advertised as a “blend of balance, harmony, elegance, and alpine spirit,” the estate is the largest private landholding at Lake Tahoe.
The centerpiece of the secluded property is Lake Tranquility, a serene body of water fully stocked with brown trout. Once inside the estate, the grand main residence of 20,000 square feet is complimented by an elegant grand staircase – a replica of the staircase built in the S.S. Titanic. Consistently inspired by opulent tradition, the welcoming cigar lounge is fashioned after a lounge within the St. Regis Hotel, while the personal library is constructed in the New York City Public Library style.
Collected by the previous owner, the estate is augmented by sumptuous textiles, distinctive porcelains, and oil-paintings in original carved-wood frames. The conservatory, unique in the underground passage accessibility, features an indoor glass mosaic swimming pool & spa, poolside bar, and exercise facilities.
Aside from the main residence, Tranquility Estate’s property is sprinkled with other buildings, such as the guest residence, art studio, and boat house pavilion – which allows for a perfect lunch on the shore of Lake Tranquility. The property also features a separate gymnasium with basketball court, stables, and a residence quarters for the guests and staff.
Golf enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to test their skills on the two, over-the-water, par-three golf holes. On top of all these amenities, the Tranquility Estate includes 11 fireplaces, 16 garages, 0.7 mile private drive, a 19-seat theater, and a 3,200-bottle wine cellar.
Below the trees, individuals can meander through the vast pathways and forest trails. Above the pine and aspen, they can delight in the breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada.
