Own an Island in Belize for $5.8 million

Described as one of the world’s most breathtaking locations, Monta Caye, Belize is now on the market for $5.8 million. Once home to a well-known resort, the island is located on Glover’s Atoll area and is still kept in pristine condition by caretakers. The 12-acre Central American Island is the perfect destination for an island purchase. Yachters often stop to enjoy the island and its immaculate ocean surroundings, on their way to Guatemala and the Caribbean.

For a taste of life off of the island, Belize City is only a 35-minute helicopter ride away from Monta Caye. Belize’s largest town, Dangriga, is only located 30 miles away from the island.

Other than the diving possibilities, the marine life in Glover’s Atoll is a great attraction to perspective island owners. The area was designated as a marine reserve in 1996. To protect the marine life in the surrounding waters, catch and release fishing is promoted along with fly-fishing. Glover’s Atoll is also a research center and home to the Wildlife Conservation Society. In 2000, the location became an official World Heritage Site.

Aside from all of the marine activities, Glover’s Atoll is rich with history. Pieces of Mayan pottery can be found from when the ancient people sailed on the island named by pirates in the 1750s.

With a wide array of activities to choose from, Monte Caye proves that it is not only an island worthy of a visit—but lavish ownership.
